Ashish Social Service Nepal (ASSN) is a registered non-profit, NGO that has been working in Nepal since 2006 to fight against human trafficking and empower vulnerable women and girls with skills for a brighter future.
Our head office is in Butwal-Rupendehi with a secondary office in Bharatpur, Chitwan.
The open border between Nepal and India is known as one of the busiest human trafficking highways in the world. It is believed that approximately 20,000 women and girls are trafficked from Nepal ever year. Poverty is a major driving force as an increasing number of women and girls seek job opportunities abroad. Lack of education also makes them particularly vulnerable to the schemes of traffickers.
ASSN’s goal is to eradicate the trafficking of vulnerable women and girls by intercepting them at the border before they are trafficked and raising awareness in the community about the dangers of trafficking and the way traffickers operate.
